It certainly has been a year of “significant career achievements” for OCEAN…In addition to playing a full calendar of festivals and concerts, we released a CD, Song of Solstice, that got signed for national distribution with Allegro Media Group. Song of Solstice won a place on USA Today’s “Notable Holiday Albums of 2011,” and was named to Philadelphia CityPaper’s “Top Ten Roots Albums of 2011.” And to top off all that, Jennifer appeared as a guest on NPR's Kojo Nnamdi show on Dec. 20th to talk about Song of Solstice, after which OCEAN played a CD release concert w/ singers from Washington Revels to a packed house at the Birchmere on December 27th. Wow… Whatta year!
